January 27, 2022

Dear SPC Families,

This week was quite eventful at SPC!

  • Our second graders celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation and are now looking forward to preparing for First Holy Communion.
  • We began our Bitty Basketball this past Saturday, and the gym was filled with over a hundred Bitty basketball players, thus ensuring the success of SPC basketball for future generations.
  • If all this excitement was not enough, we are so proud of Dr. Ochsner and the team of 5 girls who won (and were the only team from Illinois) the NASA Tech Rise Challenge. They will begin working with a NASA scientist and Dr. O to build their SPC Magnetic Space Junk Collector that will be blasted into space next Spring! Congratulations to Lily D, Mary G, Keira D, Abby B, and Renata M! They were one of only 57 teams out of nearly 600 teams, representing 5,000 sixth through 12th-grade students from across the country who applied to the challenge!

Catholic Schools Week 2022!

This is the week when we celebrate everything outstanding about Catholic Education, and my goodness, SPC has a lot to celebrate! A very special thank you to the Catholic Schools Week Committee Mrs. Spanos, Ms. Whalen, Mrs. Dohr, Ms. Lewandowski, Mrs. Zimmerman, Mrs. Pecoraro, Mrs. Archer, Mrs. Neigo, and Mrs. Gregorek. They have planned a week of wonderful activities and themes for the students. Please see below for details and links to grade-level projects/assignments. This will also be included in the weekly grade-level newsletters. Since we canceled the Sunday Open House, we are excited to let you know that a special surprise is being sent home with your child (it will be given to the oldest or only in the family) on Monday. So be sure to check those backpacks on Monday!

Please click here to download the Catholic Schools Week Schedule that I've included below.

I am pleased to report that our enrollment is stable and projected to remain above 700 students for the 2nd year in a row. SPC continues to be the PLACE TO BE!

Update from Home & School Association

TRIP (our gift card tuition reimbursement program) rebates were processed earlier this week. Some families earned over $500 in rebates to their FACTS account by purchasing gift cards they use on a daily basis. For example, Lands End provides a 15% rebate back to families by purchasing e-gift cards from the site before they process their order.

Moving forward, "TRIP" will be transitioning to the RAISE RIGHT app where you can order physical gift cards shipped directly to your home.  More information about the app can be found here E-cards and additional gift cards can still be found on the website, but SPC will no longer have physical gift cards in stock for purchase. SPC's access code for the app is C21ELFAD426. This will link directly to your family's account.

We are also looking for 2 parent volunteers to help to manage the RAISE RIGHT program moving forward. If you are interested in becoming more involved in this program, please email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Please Keep This FACTS Tuition Summary Information Handy For Tax Time!

Question: How Do I Find My Payment Summary In FACTS?

Answer: This report will show the total paid for each of the accounts (i.e. Tuition, Extended Day Care, Technology, Book fees, etc.). Parents can select a year or a date range for this summary. This will also include the Schools Federal Tax ID and address. Please see directions below.
