The interscholastic athletic program at St. Paul of the Cross School is a volunteer program. Members of the Athletic Committee, coaches, and volunteers freely give their time to help ensure the program’s success and make it a meaningful, rewarding, and enjoyable experience for all participating.
The Athletic Committee, whose members are approved by the Principal and the Pastor, administers the St. Paul of the Cross Athletic Program. The Athletic Committee selects team coaches and support personnel. St. Paul of the Cross participates as a full and active City-Suburban Catholic Conference charter member.
At the heart of the Athletic Committee’s philosophy is the belief that participation in athletics should be more than just a physical activity. It should be an enjoyable, rewarding learning experience that shapes our student-athletes characters. Through our members, programs, coaching staff, and volunteers, we strive for our student-athletes to develop the following characteristics:
- An interest in and an understanding of each sport’s rules.
- Advancement in a student’s athletic abilities commensurate with his/her talents and dedication to the program.
- To learn the values of sportsmanship and teamwork and to experience a sense of pride that accompanies personal growth and team achievement.
- To master the discipline, dedication, and leadership skills that can be developed through participation in competitive team athletics.
SPC offers many sports throughout the school year in Grades K-8.
Parents, you must complete all forms and compliance requirements and submit them to the school before your child participates in or before you coach any SPC School sport.
