January 20, 2022

Dear SPC Families,

I hope you are all staying warm during these frigid temperatures. I know getting up on these cold mornings is not easy, but I will ask everyone to be a bit more mindful of getting to school before 8:00 am. Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 8:00. They should be in their classrooms getting ready for the day by 8:00, not arriving at school at 8:00. Thank you for your consideration!

Next week we will outline the fun activities scheduled for Catholic Schools Week! Please stay tuned for classroom newsletters that detail the dress-down day themes and classroom activities.

Please keep our 2nd-grade students in your prayers as they prepare to make their 1st Reconciliation on January 25th and 26th!

CHANGE IN CALENDAR-NO SCHOOL ON HOLY THURSDAY.
The Office of Catholic Schools has allowed schools to take up to 4 “mental health” days for teachers. Holy Thursday was originally a ½ day of school. It will now be a full day off as part of the mental health days. To alleviate the stress of having another day off for our families, the original Professional development day on March 4th is now a day off for the teachers. The other days will be taken at the end of the school year after the last day of school during the teacher PD week. Please make a note of Holy Thursday in your calendar.

SECURITY PROGRAM: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
As you are probably aware, St. Paul of the Cross has a volunteer security program staffed by active and retired police officers. The program is always looking for more volunteers. If you are an active or retired police officer interested in volunteering (even once a month for a few hours), please contact Tim Hawkins at 773-301-1789 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thank you.

COVID DASHBOARD JANUARY 20, 2022
Beginning next week the dashboard sections in yellow will no longer be part of our dashboard. We will continue to collect the data so if there becomes a need to include it again we will be able to.

Update from Home & School Association

TRIP (our gift card tuition reimbursement program) rebates were processed earlier this week. Some families earned over $500 in rebates to their FACTS account by purchasing gift cards they use on a daily basis. For example, Lands End provides a 15% rebate back to families by purchasing e-gift cards from the site before they process their order.

Moving forward, "TRIP" will be transitioning to the RAISE RIGHT app where you can order physical gift cards shipped directly to your home.  More information about the app can be found here E-cards and additional gift cards can still be found on the website, but SPC will no longer have physical gift cards in stock for purchase. SPC's access code for the app is C21ELFAD426. This will link directly to your family's account.

We are also looking for 2 parent volunteers to help to manage the RAISE RIGHT program moving forward. If you are interested in becoming more involved in this program, please email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
