September 1, 2022

Dear SPC Families,

I look forward to seeing you all tonight for Back to School Night; it is wonderful to have a fully in-person Back to School Night! For our evening to run smoothly, please thoroughly read today's earlier email detailing times and locations for each grade level. For grades 3-8, please enter through door B1. For grades Preschool-2nd, please enter through door D5.

Next Friday, we will host our annual Parent Mixer; please see below for details and to RSVP.

UNIFORMS:
I understand that some people are still waiting for some uniforms to arrive. Please know that the old gold gym shirts are no longer allowed for gym attire. The only permitted uniforms are the former Lands' End items and the current selection from Tommy Hilfiger.

SPIRIT WEAR TOMORROW:
Tomorrow, all students may come dressed in spirit wear. All spirit wear days are noted on the school calendar. Students must wear spirit wear bottoms with their spirit wear tops.

WEEKLY MASS:
We will begin weekly Mass this Tuesday, September 6th, at 10:00 am. All students in grades K-8 will attend Mass. While we work out seating/sizing logistics, we are asking that no parents attend weekly Mass with the school until further notice. I appreciate your patience.

FUN RUN 2022 SPONSORSHIPS:
The Fun Run Committee is finalizing the t-shirt sponsorships today. Please see below for more details.

MONDAY-HAPPY LABOR DAY:
A reminder that Monday is no school. Enjoy the Holiday weekend!

Peace,
Dr. Erika Mickelburgh

School Updates

Notes From Fletcher Foy

Please remember to send back your child(ren)'s blue (EGC) or purple (UGC) emergency sheet.

If your child will be absent, please call the school attendance line and leave a message or go to the school website and click on "report an absence here" on the homepage. There is still a Covid reporting form, in the case that you will need to report that.

If your child has a phone or watch at school, please advise them to tell their teacher and go to the office when they are not feeling well. Students are not allowed to text their parents during the school day.

If your child has an appointment and they will need an early dismissal or late arrival, please leave a message or email the teacher and include Bridget Fletcher or Linda Foy, depending on which building they are in. Please try and make sure you notify us ahead of time for early dismissals. While we try to accommodate you, this becomes very disruptive to the class when it is last minute. You will have to sign your child in or out at the office.

We discourage parents from dropping off items at school that were forgotten at home unless they are important, like lunch or eyeglasses. Water fountains in the school are now open and working, so water bottles are not a necessity. Homework that is dropped off will be put in the teacher's mailbox, and he/she will get it at the end of the day. Students will not be called down to pick up forgotten homework.

Chromebooks in the UGC:
Students must fully charge their Chromebooks each night so they are ready for the next school day. Loaner Chromebooks and chargers will not be given out to students who forget to charge theirs. Students will not be allowed to call their parents to bring a Chromebook to school if forgotten at home.

Thank you!

Attention all Golfers, Gophers, Drinkers and Loafers -

The summer is winding down and the kids are going back to school. What better way to celebrate, than to gather men by the foursome and play an elegant sport at an incredibly poor level?!?

That's right, the annual SPCMC Golf Outing is back! This event has everything: Tom Finnegan playing the bagpipes and Bob McNamara singing a 4-hour cover of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

We'll even have a "Beat the Priest" closest to the pin, featuring our very own Father James!!

As always, this is a scramble format so anyone can be a winner! String and mulligans can be purchased at the door to help your score.

Entry fee includes box lunch and a drink. Following golf, we will have light appetizers and an hour of open bar.

Please consider sponsoring a hole - all proceeds go toward a worthy cause!!
