Service and Outreach

We work to instill in each of our students a lifelong desire and commitment to helping others. An important focus for our campus ministry program is putting our faith into action through service to others. All of our students participate in local, national and/or international community service projects. These projects vary from year to year and often correspond with the interests of individual grades.

2019-2020 School Year

SPC Tigers are heading to Puerto Rico
We are excited to announce that in February of 2020 we will be offering a service trip to Puerto Rico visiting and working with Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. In 2017, St. Paul of the Cross raised money during the Lenten Mission to rebuild the damaged church of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. However, there is still work that needs to be done. We will be assisting at Our Lady of the Rosary Church and School. We will also have time to learn about the culture and history of Puerto Rico---and even have some fun! This trip is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Parents are also eligible to attend the trip. Please click here to download the flyer with the Puerto Rico Service Trip Information.

Uncle Pete's Ministry - May 2019

Thank you on behalf of the Servants of St. Francis and the Student Council. SPC students went above and beyond to feed the hungry. We had the largest meal sack collection yet! A note from Uncle Pete’s Ministry--

How marvelous are the students from SPC School. 600 sacks were collected this morning! The sacks were taken to
the Cornerstone Community Center, 4628 N. Clifton, serving meals in uptown to the needy and to the Franciscan Outreach, 2715 W Harrison, an overnight shelter, offering food and support services for homeless men and women.
All of the recipients are grateful that they are remembered in such a special way.

We begin each Lent with an all-school assembly where we hear about the School/Parish Lenten Project. In addition, the students and faculty prepare and participate in prayer services and other service projects.

"Lent is a favorable season for opening the doors to all those in need and recognizing in them the face of Christ" -- Pope Francis
