What It Means to Be Protestant: The Case for an Always-Reforming ChurchThere's a movement among evangelicals of exploring the more sacramental, liturgical, and historically conscious church traditions, including Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. This hunger for historical rootedness is welcomebut unfortunately, many assume that this need can only be met outside of Protestant contexts. In What it Means to Be Protestant, Gavin Ortlund draws from both his scholarly work in church history and his personal experience

There's a movement among evangelicals of exploring the more sacramental, liturgical, and historically-conscious church traditions, including Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. This hunger for historical rootedness is welcome—but unfortunately, many assume that this need can only be met outside of Protestant contexts. In What it Means to Be Protestant, Gavin Ortlund draws from both his scholarly work in church history and his personal experience in ecumenical engagement to offer a much-needed defense of the Protestant tradition. Retrieving classical Protestant texts and arguments, he exposes how many of the contemporary objections leveled against Protestants are rooted in caricature. He shows how historic Protestantism offers the best pathway forward and to historical rootedness for Christians today. In his charitable style, Ortlund demonstrates that the 16th century Reformation represented a genuine renewal of the gospel. This does not entail that Protestantism is without faults. But because it is built upon the principle of semper reformanda (always reforming), Protestantism is capable of reforming itself according to Scripture as the ultimate authority.

______________

Gavin Ortlund (PhD, Fuller Theological Seminary) serves as President of Truth Unites and Theologian-in-Residence at Immanuel Church. He is the author of numerous books, including Anselm's Pursuit of Joy, Retrieving Augustine's Doctrine of Creation, Why God Makes Sense in a World That Doesn't, and Theological Retrieval for Evangelicals. He and his wife, Esther, have five children.

______________

Much of contemporary Protestantism, conservative to liberal, has little connection to the Reformation. But Ortlund reminds us why the 'Protestant' label is worth saving. He has a real gift for distilling complex issues into something that a struggling Christian can understand. This is a well-informed but also passionate defense. Before running to Rome or the East, please read this terrific book first!' -- Michael Horton, J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics, Westminster Seminary California

Very handy to have to spot them easily
Color: Dark Blue
Love the cases, have a different color on each rooms tv. Hopefully it will protect from a drop as that is what prompted me to buy it. We cracked the screen on our last remote and they are expensive to replace. Good price

An Elegant and Secure Solution for Remote Control Storage
Color: Red
One of the first aspects I noticed was the impeccable fit of the case. It cradles the remote with precision, ensuring a snug and secure hold. This tight fit protects the remote from accidental drops and minimizes the risk of misplacement—a common concern in busy households or shared spaces. The peace of mind this provides is genuinely appreciable. The case's construction is made of lightweight and durable material. Despite its slim profile, it offers reliable protection against daily wear and tear, keeping the remote pristine. This balance between portability and sturdiness is a testament to the quality of its design. Another thoughtful feature is the minimalist aesthetics. The case seamlessly complements the Apple TV remote’s sleek design, blending harmoniously with modern decor. It’s a small yet impactful detail that enhances the overall visual appeal of my entertainment area. Moreover, the case is straightforward to install and remove. This user-friendly approach ensures I can switch between setups or clean the remote with minimal hassle—a convenience that should not be overlooked.

Perfect remote case!
Color: Red
100% worth every penny for this! Apple seemingly makes their remotes from sheets of aluminum foil, if you fart to close to one, the wind will dent them. That being said- This case solves that. The fit and finish is apple quality (the quality of their other products, not the remote made of play doh), it doesn’t add much bulk, easy to use and snaps right in place, and has an almost soft feel with some grip so it won’t slide off the arm of a couch or recliner. The red band of color is great for making it stick out and easier to find as well. 10/10 would recommend!

Exceeded expectations.
Color: Blue
This simple yet effective case covers the back with a clear plastic window and fully encases the remote's edges. My kids dropped the old remote far too many times, and being made of aluminum, it dented and the IR piece in the front broke. I even bought a new remote, BUT, once I put this case on the old one (gluing the IR window back on), I discovered I no longer need the new remote, as this will last a long long time. I wish I had bought this from the start. Why didn't I? because I thought it would make it bulkier. Sure it's a little wider, but feels pretty good in the hand, and the weight difference is negligible.
