Resources on Talking to Your Kids about Ukraine:
The crisis in Ukraine is challenging for adults to process, let alone children. While we pray for the people of Ukraine and an end to the conflict, here are some resources for talking to your children about the war:

Lenten Almsgiving:
Each Lent, we encourage students to practice Almsgiving. Please talk to your kids about things they can do around the house to help Legendary Lodge. This year, their donations will go to support Legendary Lodge so that children in the Diocese of Helena Montana can grow in their relationship with Jesus. Yesterday your child was sent home an envelope and a flyer with all the information about the Almsgiving Project. Please encourage them to contribute their donations earned from helping around the house. They can return the envelope to the main office before Easter Break.

In partnership with Catholic Extension, St. Paul of the Cross is helping Legendary Lodge in the Diocese of Helena, Montana grow. Your efforts will ensure that many more generations of Catholic campers can come to know Christ at the summer camp at Legendary Lodge.
Legendary Lodge offers a robust youth ministry program that is "connecting the dots" between small, rural faith communities and the universal Church. Locals often refer to legendary Lodge as "the jewel of the diocese."

The beautiful campground is located on a pristine river valley nestled between Montana mountains. Nearly 900 children travel to the campsite for a unique Catholic experience each summer. The mission of Legendary Lodge has remained constant - to guide and accompany young disciples as they encounter Christ in prayer, sacrament, community, and the beauty of God's creation. The camp focuses on faith formation and provides a week of prayer, fellowship, adventure, and joy. These cherished experiences persist as building blocks of faith, service, and generosity that last long into adulthood.
All camps are staffed by outstanding Catholic young adults who express their faith and personally model examples of knowing and serving Christ for the campers. A time-honored tradition at Legendary Lodge is that each night a camp counselor tells an interesting story or a testimony about their personal faith. Based on the impactful camp experience, parishes see their youth continue church involvement year-round.
The dream at Legendary Lodge has always been to expand the camp to increase the number of campers they can accept each summer. You can help make that dream come true for Legendary Lodge! Let's help more Legendary Lodge campers grow in their faith!

Cell Phones in the UGC:
OK Parents, we need your help. Please do not text your child in the middle of the day. If your child texts you in the middle of the day, please respond with something of the following message: "It is good to hear from you, BUT you are not supposed to be using your phone in the middle of the day. Please go to the main office, and Mrs. Foy will help you. Mrs. Foy will call me if you need to go home."

Save the Date! March 11th, Go to the Movies With Dr. M!
On March 11th, join Dr. M at the Pickwick at 10:00 am to watch Encanto! All proceeds will benefit Our Lady of Charity Catholic School in Cicero. We hope to help give the gift of Catholic education to others. We are blessed with many gifts at SPC and hope to share the gift of Catholic education with others. Please click here to buy tickets! Popcorn and a drink are provided!

Save the Date VIP DAY! (Very Important Person Day) May 6, 2022
Each student will be able to bring 1 VIP to school. We will host activities in the classrooms for the times below. VIPs will report to the classrooms at the assigned time for some refreshment and activity. We will send more details in April and an RSVP form. Given our enrollment growth, we had to re-envision Grandparents Day; we will continue to celebrate VIP day moving forward. It will be a full day of school; students will return to class after the VIP activities.
Schedule:
8:15-9:00 Early Childhood Classroom Activity (preschool, PreK, Multiage, Kindergarten)
9:20-10:20 1st, 2nd, 3rd Grade
10:30-11:15 4th-8th Grade

Parent-Teacher Conferences March 10th and 11th
Mandatory parent-teacher conferences are coming up! Conferences will be available via Zoom and in-person, depending on parent preference. Please remember to sign up via Pick a Time.

Eucharistic Ministers Needed:
Fr. Nick and the SPC Scheduling Team invite you to a training session on Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:30 pm for EM's and 7:30 pm for lectors in the Upper Church. This is for both new candidates and experienced ministers as a refresher. Please spread the word to others to join our ministry. You are our best evangelists for these ministries! Anyone who is confirmed is eligible, including high schoolers and adults. Thank you for your service, and we look forward to seeing all who can attend.

Roundball 2022 Logo
The Roundball tournament games (a boys’ tourney and a girls’ tourney) will be held Saturday, March 5th through Saturday, March 12th. For those of you new to SPC, the SPC Roundball Tournament consists of two separate basketball tournaments for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. Our high school-aged SPC alumni return to their alma mater to coach the teams. More than 70 alumni participate each year and have just as much fun and friendly competition as the SPC students! Members of the SPC Men’s Club serve as announcers, and professional referees officiate. Awards are given for the champions, school spirit, and leadership.

The Roundball Cafe will be open every evening, so put those dinner worries to rest and let our Roundball Cafe team take care of it for you. We look forward to seeing you!
