December 9, 2021

Dear SPC Families,

This week the school children gathered for Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Gospel reading from Luke reminded us that "nothing will be impossible for God," and as I looked around the church at the students, I honestly got a little emotional; how true are those Gospel words! Nothing will be impossible for God! Last year, we celebrated Mass in the Gym through live streaming, and now we are able to gather in Church to give glory to our Blessed Mother. In the waiting and darkness of Advent, those words speak hope for all of us in challenging times. These past 21 months have shown us that despite some darkness and waiting for the pandemic to ease….we must remember that nothing is impossible for God!

SPC ORNAMENTS WILL ARRIVE NEXT WEEK:

The ornaments will be here next week! We understand that they may be gifts, so we ask everyone who purchased an ornament to stop by and pick them up in the EGC on Tuesday-Thursday.

ADOPT A FAMILY CONTRIBUTIONS:

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Adopt a Family Fund! We were able to donate over $10,000 to the Social Service Ministry from the general collection and the sale of the ornaments. Thank you for helping to make Christmas special for so many families.

UNIFORMS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR:

I know many people are wondering if we will return to the regular school uniform after Christmas break. The truth is, even if we wanted to return to the dress uniform--the supply chain would prevent that from happening! So--much to the children's delight, we will continue with our "Covid Uniform Policy" for the rest of the 21-22 school year! I am 99.99% sure we will return to the regular dress uniform in August 2022!

ENDOWMENT CONTRIBUTION FROM FUN RUN & TRIVIA NIGHT

I am pleased to announce that between the Fun Run and Trivia Night, we are able to contribute $23,000 to the Educational Endowment Fund. Given our tremendous success at the Tiger Fun Run, $14,000 is being deposited as the first Pay it Forward endowment contribution.

The Pay it Forward Contributions will be made to the endowment when any fundraising surpasses the budgeted goal. This best practice in institutional advancement allows St. Paul of the Cross School to strengthen our operational vitality, thus ensuring Catholic education is strong for future generations of SPC families.

SPC HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION UPDATES
Faculty Gift Fund - Due Tomorrow, December 10th

Faculty Gift Fund

The Home and School Association is pleased to sponsor the Holiday Faculty Gift Fund. This is a convenient way for parents to give Christmas Gifts to all their children's teachers and the staff at our school. Your contribution will provide a monetary gift to all teachers (homeroom, practical fine arts, and resources), aides, the principal, assistant principal, administrative assistants, school secretaries, and the maintenance staff. The SPC teachers and staff truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Please consider making a monetary contribution to show your gratitude to our wonderful teachers and staff. They have worked extra hard this year to ensure our children have a safe environment to learn and excel. A donation is not required, and we want to encourage you to give at your comfort level. We realize that families make financial sacrifices to send their children to Catholic School and challenges with COVID, so please give at the level that is comfortable for your family—any amount is appreciated. Last year's contributions averaged around $80.00 per family.

There are two (2) ways to make donations:

OR

  • This year to go "green," we will not be placing an envelope in your oldest/only child's take-home folder. If you prefer to write a check, please put it in an envelope marked Faculty Gift Fund and send it to the office.

All donations are due by December 10th.
