Dear SPC Families,

My goodness, I can’t tell you how exciting it is to finally feel that SPC is running on almost full cylinders! Parent-teacher conferences are able to happen in person, and the gym is buzzing with basketball practice and games! Seeing so many families at the Parent Mixers at Harp and Fiddle has been wonderful! It is really beginning to feel that life is moving closer to normal! BUT--perhaps the most exciting news is that next Friday--FUN FAIR IS BACK!

FUN FAIR OCTOBER 29! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
FUN FAIR IS BACK. A reminder that students may wear Halloween costumes on Friday. Please remember it should be school-appropriate, with no weapons and no mask.

SAVE THE DATE: CHRISTMAS PRAYER SERVICE & CONCERT GRADES PS-3
WHERE: Church
WHEN: Friday, December 10 at 10:00 am
GUESTS ALLOWED: Two per family. Please do not bring more than two per family; we have a limited capacity. We will Facebook Live the performance so friends and family can watch it.
WHY DO WE DO THE SERVICE DURING THE DAY? Excellent question, the truth is when we host the concert at 6 or 7 at night for these little ones it can be a challenge. Asking them to perform when they should be unwinding for the day and getting ready for bed does not make for ideal circumstances, especially during the excitement of the holiday season. We understand that it isn’t always the best for parent schedules, but we appreciate your understanding that this decision is focused on what is best for the kids. We will Facebook live the performance so that if you can’t be there--you can still see your child perform.

REMINDER- EXTRA MASKS
Please remember to send your child with extra masks in their backpacks.

ATHLETICS AND SPECTATORS
Thank you for your patience this week as we return to a normal basketball season. We initially said only two spectators per student because we wanted to get an idea of what the games looked like this year. However, we are blessed with a large gym, so at this time, we can increase the number to four adults per athlete. SPC students are also allowed to come and cheer on their friends. I appreciate your cooperation with mask-wearing. Given our Covid dashboard and high vaccination rate, this is a reasonable and safe adjustment. GO TIGERS!

UNIFORMS FROM LANDS END
I know many of us (myself included) are eagerly waiting on the delivery of warm weather uniforms from Lands End. We know there is a significant delay in orders, please do not stress about this! Simply send your students in regular blue sweatpants. There are more things to worry about than if the sweatpants have the logo on them.

CROSSING GUARD INFORMATION
Just an FYI for our students that walk home from school…. We do have crossing guards secured at all the major crossings and intersections near and around the school. Crossing guards are on duty until 3:20 pm since they have to leave to go to other crossings. As with a lot of jobs, there is a shortage of crossing guards! If your child(ren) is dependent on a guard to cross them, please make sure they leave school on time and head right home. We appreciate your support and cooperation in keeping our children safe.
