National Junior Honor Society and Uncle Pete's Ministry TOMORROW

NJHS is sponsoring Uncle Pete's Ministry this year. Uncle Pete's Ministry is an organization where we help pack and send out lunches to homeless people all over Chicago. On Tuesday, October 12th, students were sent home with two paper bags and an instruction sheet.

NJHS members will be collecting the packed lunches TOMORROW MORNING, Friday, October 15th.
We will collect the lunches from all school doors between 7:45 – 8:15 am. We cannot accept lunches after 8:15 am.

If you would like to make more lunches, please use plastic grocery bags. Please ONLY pack what is on the list, nothing else. Here is a reminder of what we would like every student to pack in their lunches:

  • Two sandwiches with only meat inside them. The bread can be either white or wheat, but please don't put cheese or other condiments on the sandwich.
  • Two hard-boiled eggs in the shell. Please make sure that they are thoroughly boiled for about 10 minutes.
  • One small bag of chips
  • One piece of fruit like an orange or apple (NO bananas)
  • Two or three cookies, or a small candy bar
  • One small water or juice box
  • One paper napkin
Thank you so much for your help!
