September 24, 2020

Dear SPC Families,

This is a very exciting day for the St Paul of the Cross community. We have just been awarded the 2020 Blue Ribbon for Academic Excellence. This award is given to schools that are among their state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. This prestigious award is given to 347 schools across the country, but it is only given to 50 private schools. This award represents the unending commitment, hard work, and dedication of our amazing faculty. I am so proud of the faculty, staff, and students for all they have done to make this award a reality. To our students, you work so hard each and every day at doing your best on your schoolwork, and more importantly, you all work so hard to be kind to one another and grow in your relationship with God! Thank you to our parents, we are all grateful to you for giving us the gift of educating your children.

Please see below for our school profile on the National Blue Ribbon website!

Sadly, we will not be able to travel to Washington DC in November to accept the award, but we will begin planning a Blue Ribbon Spirit Week for November 9-13! More details of COVID safe fun to follow!

Now for some business and reminders…..

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW: Professional Development for our Teachers!

Sleepovers
I have heard that in some schools (not SPC), COVID is being spread at sleepover parties. Please practice good judgement when socializing outside of school. And parents, let's face it---COVID-19 is a fabulous excuse to say no to sleepovers!

Travel
Wisconsin is now on the travel ban list of states in which a quarantine is required when returning to Illinois. This would include if you have a home in Wisconsin and are traveling back and forth from Illinois. Any stay longer than 24 hours requires a 14 day quarantine.

School Photos
Thursday, October 1st, prepay online ordering only. The photos done now in the Fall will be in school uniforms. New this year, we will be offering Spring pictures and they will be done without uniforms and will also include the option for sibling photos.
PREPAY--NO ENVELOPES WILL GO HOME!
Below is a prepay site and will be closed at some point, the day after Picture Day, to process the orders. At that point, parents will need to wait for their child's Ticket Code which is delivered with the bulk package orders, approximately three and a half weeks post picture day.
Please click this link to order and prepay for your child(ren)’s photos:

Dismissal Reminder - parents should leave the campus as quickly as possible at dismissal...I am noticing a lot more parents hanging around and chatting etc. You must wear your masks when on campus.

Peace,

Principal
