Dear SPC Families,

Exciting News! The CTS Committee has been working behind the scenes in preparation for Celebrating the Spirit 2023. A very big thank you to Zoraida Martin and Jeannie McNamara for co-chairing! They are planning an entertaining night, and the tickets will go on sale tomorrow. Look for a separate email tomorrow with the link to purchase your tickets!

Again, the night's sole purpose will be to gather together and celebrate the wonderful SPC community without the pressure of paddle raises and auctions. After a few years without these parent gatherings, I look forward to celebrating our spirit with you!

SPRING BREAK VACATIONS:

I know that many of our families have children in different schools that require different spring breaks. I also know that family time is important! As a parent, I face the same challenge of school calendars. Please note the policy below. I have asked the teachers to adhere to this policy regarding make-up work.

Extended Absence/Vacations-Handbook Policy

If parents/guardians wish to take their children out of school for a period of time because of family plans, the parents/guardians and teacher shall discuss the possible effect of the absence on the student's schoolwork. The recommendations shall be documented. The final decision, however, shall be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Vacations are strongly discouraged when classes are in session. However, if the vacation is unavoidable, when the student returns, he/she will be given missed class assignments. No homework/assignments will be given prior to an extended absence. The student will make up the missing work upon their return, corresponding to the number of days absent. The students may receive classroom assignments daily through Schoology.
