Dear SPC Families,

This week we started our Lenten journey! On Tuesday, we buried the Alleluia and held a palm-burning prayer service. Wednesday, all students received their ashes. This year we are excited to announce a very special Almsgiving project with Catholic Extension. Students will be given the opportunity to raise funds for the men and women religious in Cuba. I encourage you not to simply give your child a few dollars to bring to school. We hope this almsgiving project teaches our children the lifelong practice of serving the poor. I suggest having a conversation about how your child can help around the house or sacrifice a treat to “raise” their donation. It is not about the quantity but rather the experience of sacrificing and doing the chore around the house. As a class, the students will have conversations about what their collective contributions can “purchase” for the men and women Religious in Cuba.

PARENT FEEDBACK NEEDED:
Each year the Archdiocese administers the 5 Essential Survey; please take 5-10 minutes to complete this survey to help guide school improvement initiatives. It is also used to validate current school initiatives. We are hoping to get 50% parent participation.

It opened on February 21, 2023, and will close on March 17, 2023.

Annual Fund 2023 V4

Thank you to all of our generous donors during the past week of the SPC Annual Fund Appeal! Including matching gifts, as of today, February 23rd, we have raised $26,500, 26.5% of our goal! 2-23-Donor List

The SPC Annual Fund helps bridge the “gap” between tuition and the actual cost of an SPC education. Our goal is for every family to participate – 100% participation. Every gift makes a difference. Let's keep those pledges coming! You can turn your pledge card in to the school office tomorrow or next week through Friday, March 3. Or, donate directly online by clicking here. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the next week!  Don't forget to see if your employer will match your gift; it can double your donation.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Daddy/Daughter dances this Saturday! Thank you to all the committee members and volunteers for making this event possible!

Peace, Dr. Erika Mickelburgh
