This a Friendly Reminder about Birthday Treats
Edible treats are not allowed for student birthdays; please do not bring treats to school. Mrs. Serafin and Mrs. Foy will not take treats and bag them individually.
Student Parties (from the handbook)
Class parties during school hours should be limited in number and should take place during the last period of the day. If a teacher wishes his/her students to celebrate their birthdays with their classmates, he/she should ensure that the celebrations are simple and non-disruptive to the class schedule or other surrounding classes. Non-edible treats are welcome. Treats are distributed to the birthday child's homeroom only. At no time should a child's birthday party be the occasion in the classroom for practices that have their proper place in the home during a family-sponsored party. An entertainer's visit to a class as a way of celebrating an individual child's birthday, for example, would not be appropriate. Pizza parties at lunchtime will not be allowed.
Volunteer Opportunities
Over the last year, we have been fortunate enough to bring back many events for our students... From Fun Fair to prayer buddies and the SPC Olympics to parent & child outings and dances.
Our Home and School Association board has been working diligently to plan each of these events, but they need more support from all SPC families. These events cannot continue without your assistance. Even if you can only support remotely, this still provides a significant layer of support for the Home and School community.
If you have yet to volunteer at one of our events this year- and even if you have and you'd like to be more involved- I encourage you to email our board at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The board is seeking leaders and committee members for nearly all positions for the remainder of this year and next school year. We need your support to make the remaining events a success for our children.
Thursday Mailing Submissions
This is just a reminder that if you are submitting something for the Thursday Mailing, please email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by the Tuesday before.
Peace,
Dr. Erika Mickelburgh
