Dear SPC Families,

My goodness, what a week! Thank you to Tiffany Braun and Jenny Ramundo, who organized all things Fun Fair this week, and to all the amazing parent volunteers who made the day so special for our students! Thank you to Michelle Miulli and Ann Fantuzzi for organizing the 7th and 8th Grade Halloween Dance and to all the brave chaperones! SPC definitely knows how to celebrate a holiday with some fun!

Yesterday I sent an email celebrating our academic achievement; please make sure you take the time to read it! There is a lot to celebrate!

Tomorrow is Trivia Night! I look forward to seeing many of you there! Thank you for supporting our Endowment.

8th Grade Class to Work on Micro-Credential from DePaul University!

Today our 8th graders began working on their Catholic Future Leader Micro-Credential from DePaul University. This is a 20-hour leadership program supporting students to become leaders. Our students are taking three days of engaging workshops to inspire success led by DePaul University Faculty. Each student will complete a personal leadership project that will result in an awarding of a micro-credential to each student. In the next few weeks, each 8th-grade homeroom will travel to DePaul University to present their work. This program supports the distinct excellence of Catholic Schools and addresses the goals of Catholic Identity. We are fortunate that the Schreiber Family Foundation, in partnership with DePaul University, is making this amazing opportunity available to our students! Thank you to Mrs. Quinn for organizing this experience for the Class of 2023!

Peace,

Dr. Erika Mickelburgh
Principal

We look forward to seeing everyone at Trivia Night tomorrow evening; what a great turnout! We can still take last minute tables, just click here to register.
This is a BYO Food & Beverage event, so plan accordingly. You can bring your own coolers into the gym. Don't forget your paper goods, such as paper plates, napkins, cups, etc...It's your party! We will not be selling any food or beverage…just some fun game playing opportunities. At check-in, the Endowment Committee will be selling the Smoker Raffle tickets and Mulligans for you and your team to use throughout the event (see below...don't forget the cash!)

Trivia Night’s Top Ten…

  1. All proceeds benefit the SPC Parish Educational Endowment Fund.

  2. SPC provides your seat… but BYO food and drink and table decorations!

  3. Creativity counts! Prize awarded for the most creative table theme.

  4. Squares for the elimination raffle are $25 each. Every 10th person drawn wins a spirit-themed prize with cash prizes for the top 3 finishers!

  5. Trivia questions will be read aloud by the host and answers quietly jotted down at your table. SPC alumni will collect, score, and track the standings, so everyone can see how well you’re doing.

  6. Sorry Regis, you can’t phone a friend… but you can use a mulligan! Purchase a 5-pack for $25 pre-event or $35 at the door.

  7. Win Trivia Night and return for free in 2023!

  8. Even the losers are winners! Prizes will be awarded for first andlast place. Priests on-site to pray for your success next year.

  9. Please clean up your table before you depart… or pre-purchase clean-up service and let the Endowment Committee do your dirty work.$100 donation

  10. Tell your friends how much fun you had and join us again in 2023!

SPC Life Team
The SPC Life Team is collecting food donations for migrant families staying in local hotels seeking asylum in the US. The food needs to be microwavable. We will be collecting donations of microwavable mac-n-cheese, microwavable Campbell’s chicken soup, and microwavable Chef Boyardee the week of November 7-11th. Please send the donations to your student's classroom.

Cardinal Cupich, along with Catholic Charities, is working to provide shelter, food and support to the asylum seekers as they wait for their hearings. These are legal immigrants who have applied for asylum in our country, because if they go home to their country of origin they will be tortured or killed for their beliefs, faith, etc. Let us continue to help the most vulnerable.
