News from the SPC Green Club
Green Team ImageWant to Win a stainless steel SPC water bottle??? Pack a waste free lunch on Wednesday, November 15th and you might win one of 25 special water bottles!

Did you know that SPC now has water bottle refill drinking fountains in both the EGC and UGC? Thanks to the generosity of The Class of 2016, Green Club and other school funds, SPC is taking steps to promote the use of refillable water bottles vs. single use plastic water bottles. Our SPC Green Club applied for a small grant from SWANCC (Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County) for the purpose of reducing waste in our school and we were approved! We were able to purchase 25 water bottles and would like to share them with students who pack waste free lunches. On November 15th, America Recycles Day, our Green Club members will travel the classrooms to hand out raffle tickets to those with waste free lunches. 25 lucky tickets will be drawn and bottles awarded!

Each team will have 5 or more high school coaches that will run practices and dress in professional, business casual attire for the games. All games will be officiated by professional referees. Members of St. Paul’s Men’s Club will announce the play-by-play of all of the games on the PA.

Christmas is coming! T.R.I.P. can help you take care of some of your shopping while saving you money in the process!

Gift cards make great gifts! Purchase them through the St. Paul of the Cross Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) Service. TRIP is a fundraiser that gives participating families the opportunity to earn tuition credit and also raise funds for our school. Click here for more information.

“By just by using TRIP for groceries at the Jewel we earn over $400 a year off of our tuition. I have a reloadable card that I fill on my smartphone before I shop, usually in the parking lot. The reloadable card can be used all year round. Most of the grocery stores have reloadable cards. In addition, we purchase gift cards for kids’ birthday parties and the Parish Giving Tree at Christmas. It's very easy and convenient.” ~ Missy Meyer, SPC Parent

Stop by the TRIP table in the UGC on Thursday, November 16th during Parent/Teacher conferences.  We will have cards for purchase (cash or check) that can be taken home with you! Buy cards for your holiday shopping or to give as gifts!

AND DONATE THEM TO OUR FOOD PANTRY!
We use 600 brown handled grocery bags each month and our

St. Paul of the Cross Seminar Series- “Where Work Meets Faith.”

Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm.
SPC Holy Family Chapel (lower church at 320 S. Washington, Park Ridge, Il. 60631)
The Seminar Series is about using the gifts that God gave you to build up community. Each series will feature presenters who will tell real life stories and how their faith played an important role. Hearing many different stories in our Seminar Series may increase connections among us that will bring us all closer together increasing our sense of community. Each presenter will answer questions from the audience at the end of their presentation.

About our Presenters:

Jeffrey Obarek, a security professional, will share his conversion experience. Hear Jeff speak of one of his favorite priests and a pledge Jeff made. Hear how God is growing Jeff in a simple yet profound way that we all can use. Understand the compassion and caring expressed in a smile.

Barbara V. Parilla, MD a maternal fetal medicine specialist, will share a story of inclusive medicine. Take a walk through a complicated pregnancy and joyful delivery. Hear Dr. Parilla’s personal faith story blessing her with a skill set to meet people where they are at. Hear tips for all women to affirmatively impact newborn life, well before getting pregnant.

Jeff Liautaud, of the St. Paul of the Cross Seminar Series - “Where Work Meets Faith,” will share a story of the impact of the Series on his life. Understand a preciousness of God at work in the lives of ordinary people like us.

The event’s social benefit is getting to know each other better. The more we know about each other, the more opportunity we have for being connected. Go to www.Loquate.TV to hear these “Inspiring and Practical” talks. Better yet, come in person. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Ann or Jeff Liautaud 773-621-0863. We look forward to seeing you.
