Eva Bryjak

Eva Bryjak

Welcome to Mrs. Bryjak's PreKindergarten Classroom!

Want to know what grade the happiest teacher gets to teach? Preschool and Prekindergarten of course!  My name is Eva Bryjak (everyone calls me Mrs. B) and I am one of the prekindergarten teachers at St. Paul of the Cross. I grew up in Park Ridge attending Mary, Seat of Wisdom followed by St. Ignatius and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The school year 2015-2016 marks my eleventh year teaching anniversary.

The past nine years I have been teaching preschool and prekindergarten at SPC.  In my classroom each child has their own personal developmental milestone to reach.  For some children the goal is to to learn to share and wait their turn, another goal is learning to follow multi-step directions, and for others a goal is learning to use words to express wants and needs. Watching each individual child grow emotionally and achieve these milestones is one of the greatest privileges and joys of being a teacher.

Class News

PREK UPDATE:  April 3-7, 2017

Our letter of the week was Xx.  Given the fact that there aren’t many words with xx as the initial sound, we came up with a list of words where Xx could be anywhere in the word.

In math we reviewed writing the numbers 1-6, and began to practice 7.

Our theme is “eggs “ and we will learn about oviparous animals (animals that lay eggs) and animals that give birth to live babies.   It’s always a learning experience when children think elephants lay eggs.

Our letter of the week is Ss, with show 7 tell for items beginning with the  /s/ sound on Monday.

Our weather theme continues with a science experiment using shaving cream and food coloring.  The students are going to see what happens when the food coloring passes through the shaving cream…it rains!  We are also going to make could dough.

FRIDAY, APRIL 7 – Pajama & Pizza Party AND Egg Drop Experiment Day

We decided to combine our very fun Celebrating the Spirit Pizza Lunch & movie with a fun egg drop science experiment to conclude our egg theme.

Next week we will continue to learn about 7.  We will look for groups of 7 around the classroom.  We will also practice writing 7, along with reviewing writing numbers 1-6.

Please help your child “earn” money to support the Lenten Mission Project by doing and extra chore.  Thank you for your support!
